Guess what…..we did not lose today!
But you will have probably guessed from the title of the post, that is because we did not play.
So frustrating. It was intermediate cup weekend, which meant most of the teams in our league were busy with cup games. However, Sutton United and ourselves were not. But we have played both league ties already. Yeap, only 5 games into the season and we have already played Sutton United twice and had to have a weekend off. Not the most sensible of fixture scheduling.
Anyway, it did give me the chance to watch the 1st time play.
After a 20 minute display worse than the 2nd team’s performance last week they were 2-0. But then a reshuffle of the team and they were suddenly transformed. For the rest of the half they totally out played Old Wulfs bringing back the score to 2-2 through a brace from Andy Fisher.
Unfortunately in the second half they were not able to maintain the level of performance. They did manage to pull it back to 3-3 after conceeding a third, but then got caugh out a couple of times to go further behind. In the end, the score was 6-3. I even got to make a 5 minute cameo. My first appearance for the 1st team for over a season!
